A good mystery but with a disappointing end.

I am happy to know that an Indian mystery writer has joined the exclusive amazon book club. I have read many novels by Surendra Mohan Pathak and consider him a good mystery writer. In this book the atmosphere of the criminal side of Bombay city is well drawn. But the language seems to be contrived. It seems as if the language has been borrowed from the bollywood movies. The pace of the novel is fast. Once you start it you cannot leave it unfinished. But the end was very disappointing. The writer has tried to produce a rabbit out of the hat and he has miserably failed in his attempt. It is a forced end and is hard to digest.

Mr. Pathak has done it again, very interesting and intriguing human drama. Story of jeetsingh has come to end of phase one where he's given away sushmita for good and now phase 2 of his life begins.

Not great, but if you have some time to kill not totally useless

I really liked the initial insights about SLAs, those were valuable. Otherwise, In a light manner I would liken this to learning a new language, then immediately using the words you just learned to get in to a technical conversation, it's hazy and confusing from the start because you are dealing with language then a complex topic on top of it. When I get in to a book that is not a technical manual (commands,etc), I expect the author to break off tiny tidbits of information, contextualize it, give real world examples for easy consumption. If I was in an environment that used this system already, I can see it making a lot more sense because I would be looking for the gaps that I already knew existed, this is the trap I imagine the authors got caught up in and why they presumably thought this book was intelligible.

With a pretty slow read through, I couldn't implement anything at this point, I don't know the steps, I don't know the processes to create the steps, it's basically like I never even read the book, but it could just be me, take it for what it's worth.

Just so you can gauge where this is coming from, I have been in IT for roughly 10 years from helpdesk to Systems Architecture and was finding some failings in our organization with communications and process.

Includes a handy foreign words & phrase interpretation / pronunciation guide for those desiring to impress others as a worldly & well rounded raconteur type. Purchased for use as a quick quote source when presenting or for those impromptu talks when / where wittiness is appropriate- should prove quite handy for that.

Lots, I mean, LOTS of funny stories and quotes

I've got maybe 50 quote books, but this is one of the best. Quotes and jokes arranged by subject. Yeah, yeah... plenty of those books... but these are really good. I mark the extra funny stuff, and about half the pages have those marks, often several. And it's mostly stuff you haven't heard before. Considering the cheapo price, this is a jewel.

About the Author
Success did not come easy for this Chicago native, who was born in 1963. In 1994 he was driving trains for the Chicago Transit Authority and struggling to keep a small business from going under. In 1995 he released his first book, Never Satisfied: How and Why Men Cheat, a controversial book of short stories about unfaithful men and the women who support their irresponsible behavior. The large New York publishing companies rejected his work, saying it wasnt marketable - which basically meant, it wasnt good enough. Not willing to concede defeat, Michael decided to self-publish. He borrowed money from friends and family, charged his credit cards to the limit, and sold his automobile.

Within eight months, he sold more than 50,000 books and was on Essence and Emerge magazines best sellers lists. He toured with black expos, sorority conventions, and book fairs. He even signed books at the local night clubs, and hair salons. I was determined to make it! he says. I would sell books at a funeral if they let me. Eventually, his popularity grew and so did the demand for his next book. This time, instead of writing another book on relationships, Michael took a gamble on a novel. There was a void in African-American novels written by men, he explained. I wanted to destroy the myth that men dont read.

In July of 1997 he released his second book, Men Cry in the Dark. Once again, the book was a big success, selling 30,000 hard cover editions during the first six months. This time the national media paid attention. Michael has been a guest on several local and national radio programs, including the syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show. His electrifying personality has earned repeated appearances on talk shows such as Ricki Lake, Sally Jesse, Maury Povich, and Queen Latifah, and The View. He has also been a guest host for Tavis Smiley on BET Tonight.

Michael is happily single and is currently living in Atlanta Georgia. where he is working on another controversial book.

Interesting and sad

I bought this book last year in my ongoing attempt to understand the workings of the male mind. As I read the stories of the men interviewed for this book, I couldn't help but wonder why these men chose to put so much time and effort into being trifling. They concocted some really elaborate schemes to cover up their chicks on the side. I mean really, wouldn't have just been easier to remain single and unattached?
I have seen Mr. Baisden in person and heard him on the radio, and he is a dynamic speaker.
I appreciated how this book examined infidelity from the perspective of the cheating male. That's not something I've seen in print before. It definitely gave me some things to thing about it.
I've loaned this book to a couple of friends and we've all had pretty similar reactions. Mr. Baisden may not be a formal social scientist, but I enjoyed reading his anecdotes and observations nontheless. Sometimes, authors can become so steeped in academia that they lose the common touch. While this book is not likely to garner any awards, it's a worthwhile read for women, like me, who sometimes wonder what makes men do the things that they do.

Ready to change your bad relationship habits!

Biughy this book for several friends. Read it in 2003 great book!! I will buy it again in the future qhen my girls get older. Great eye opener to women and men who cant understand why they keep getting in crappy relationships... IJS read it!!!

The sad but truth about Men....

Well I'm eighteen years old and I wish I would have read this book from the jump, because I could have avoided bad situations with men. This book is truly an eye opener, When I have a daughter I will inssist she reads it. But overall it's a good book, at parts I would laugh and some parts I would just shake my head in shame because it's the real. And it hits you from all perspectives the dog, the other woman, the wife/girlfriend this isn't just for women men need to read this too.
