Im Zuge der Frauenbewegung wurden berechtigterweise zahlreiche Programme eingef�hrt, die speziell die M�dchen f�rdern sollten. Die deutsche Bildungspolitik richtete lange ihre Bem�hungen nur zugunsten der M�dchen aus. M�dchen bekamen Privilegien. Zwar besetzen M�nner auch heute noch immer die meisten Spitzenpositionen in Politik und Wirtschaft, verdienen besser und k�nnen laut dem Bestseller von Allan und Barbara Pease besser einparken, aber sind die Jungen immer noch in der Vorreiterposition oder hinkt der m�nnliche Nachwuchs den M�dchen in der Schule hinterher?
Laut der Verfassung der Bundesrepublik Deutschland sollen beide Geschlechter im Schulsystem die gleichen Chancen und M�glichkeiten haben, denn das Grundgesetz schreibt vor, dass niemand wegen seiner Abstammung, seiner Rasse, seiner Sprache, seiner Heimat und Herkunft, seines Glaubens, seiner religi�sen oder politischen Anschauungen und eben auch wegen seines Geschlechtes, benachteiligt oder bevorzugt werden darf. (vgl. Grundgesetz, 1949, Artikel 3) Aber haben Jungen und M�dchen tats�chlich dieselben Chancen auf eine gute Schulkarriere? Bietet das System Schule Jungen wie M�dchen dieselben Bedingungen? Werden die F�higkeiten und Potenziale von beiden Geschlechtern gleichviel gef�rdert? Dieser Frage soll in der vorliegenden Arbeit nachgegangen werden.

Psychological insight into evil

Steve Becker's "The Inner World of the Psychopath" offers great psychological insight into the minds of a small proportion of the population who are irremediably evil: psychopaths and narcissists. Looking at evil in moral terms--in terms of sin, repentance and redemption--usually cannot help us grasp the psyche of psychopaths: human beings who are constitutionally incapable of empathy and remorse. Whether born with an emotional deficiency or becoming that way because of their dysfunctional upbringing, the bottom line remains the same: psychopaths cannot change and will never turn into loving and other-regarding human beings. While it is difficult for "normal" human beings to wrap their minds around the phenomenon of psychopathy, this book explains with great clarity and depth how and why these pathologically selfish and cruel individuals lure, use and torment their victims. Very useful to specialists but written for a general audience, "The Inner World of the Psychopath" is an indispensable book for understanding the mentality of dangerous social predators suffering from incurable personality disorders. It also unmasks the "mask of sanity" that psychopaths use to attract and harm countless victims.

excellent analysis of the Psychopathic Personality

It took me just part of an afternoon to read Steve Becker's important, informative, lucid book about the Psychopathic Personality. I've always admired Isaac Asimov who wrote about complex science in simple English words enabling the lay person to understand without using the symbols and formulas for example of "Carbon Chemistry". Dr. Becker accomplishes this here, enabling the victim or some one who cares about a victim to recognize the condition and realize that there is only one solution for someone in this destructive relationship and that is to get out of the relationship with the psychopath because the Psychopath is NOT TREATABLE AND HE(usually but not always a he) WON'T CHANGE.
Often the victim needs help to leave.

Steve Becker has written a clear, informative and highly readable book on a topic that should be of importance to everyone, since we will all deal with this type of personality at some point in our lives. The structure of the book - short chapters on discrete topics such as "Psychopaths as 'Emotion Simulators' ", "Can Psychopaths Love?", "Will the Psychopath Inevitably Exploit His Family?", and so on - highlights the book's main points and makes it easy to read and to use as a reference. Each chapter builds on and reinforces those that precede it, leaving the reader with a clear picture of the basic traits of a psychopathic personality. A must read for both the lay reader and the professional.

Leigh Hancher is Professor of European Law at Tilburg University, and part-time Professor at the Florence School of Regulation. She is also Of Counsel at the Amsterdam office of Allen & Overy LLP. She is a well-known EU law expert and has counselled firms in a broad range of procedures. She is the author of numerous titles, including EU Competition and Internal Market Law in the Healthcare Sector (with Wolf Sauter, OUP 2012).

Adrien de Hauteclocque is a Legal Secretary (Referendaire) of Judge M. van der Woude at the Court of Justice of the European Union (General Court), Luxembourg, and an Adviser of the Loyola de Palacio Chair. He is the author of Market Building Through Antitrust: Long-term Contract Regulation in EU Electricity Markets (Edward Elgar, 2014).

Malgorzata Sadowska is Research Fellow at the European University Institute, working on the law and economics of energy regulation and competition policy. Since September 2013 she has been responsible for coordinating the activities of the Energy Law & Policy Area at the Florence School of Regulation, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies.
Prior to joining FSR, Malgorzata was Researcher at Tilburg Law and Economics Center (TILEC) within a project involving capacity remuneration mechanisms. She also worked at the European Commission, DG Competition, and in leading competition and public law firms in Brussels and Cologne. Malgorzata holds a PhD in Law and Economics (EDLE joint doctoral programme by the Universities of Rotterdam, Bologna and Hamburg, 2013) and Master degrees in Law (University of Gdansk, 2006) and European Studies (University of Hamburg/Europa-Kolleg, 2008).
