Fantastic Read

Fantastic read!

My applause to Georgia Lyn Hunter. Her writing skill amazes me. The sentence structure within a dialogue is utterly refreshing. I have come to admire the talent of authors. I'm continually impressed with their ability to tell stories. However, most of the time you have to put aside poor grammar, extensive detail that's nothing more than fill of senseless chatter, and so much of he said, she said.

Not with this author, her stories flow like a gentle river filling your mind with all that comes with the balance of action, narrative, and dialogue. There is no doubt that Georgia Lyn Hunter is an excellent storyteller.

Reynner... Our hero is a blonde haired hunk of honey. But, he’s also like the others an emotionally broken Empyrean, and he’s harsh, and completely self-loathing. He thought he had to exclude himself from love and a relationship. – Full of Self-sacrifice.

Eve... Our heroine had no self-confidence due to her disability, but she still had plenty of sass. She fell in love with someone that could not respond the same way. – Full of Self-deprecation.

Best line in a scene...."Yes, I'm very sure you didn't." Usually, my favorite lines are humorous. Not, this time. They were spoken out of hurt, and a heart that needed to numb the pain.

The story... Page one started out with a quick hook for me. Having read the Fallen Guardians books I understood exactly who our hero was, and the blend of both series came together perfectly. A villain appears right on page 1, and I'm instantly moved to excitement. By the end of chapter 3, Eve said her heart was pounding, uh-huh, and so was mine! The suspense of who would make the first attack on Eve gripped me. At one point I got goosebumps thinking about what Eve might go through for Reynner. The relationship was slow building, but kept me wanting to read faster to get to it. And, I was not disappointed when the good stuff happened. This story, of the Empyrean Warriors was an emotional one for me. Maybe because I'm invested in all the characters. I can't wait for the next warrior story rather it be the Fallen Guardians or the Warlords of Empyrea.

Fantastic read! I highly recommend any of Georgia Lyn Hunters Books.

Loved it. Just loved it!

Yep. Loved Darkness Undone. I wanted to devour it all in one sitting but I made myself space it out over a few nights. I hate finishing a wonderful book and feeling like I have to leave that world. The next book (my ticket back) is always such an agonizing wait. Great job Georgia Lyn Hunter, I'm so happy I got to go back to your world and can't wait to return.

Will pull you in from the beginning until the very end and leave you wanting the next one

This was an awesome story! I loved it!!! This is the first book in the Warlords of Empyrea but it is connected to the Fallen Guardians World series. It can be read by itself but you do get some added enjoyment of seeing old characters if you have read the other books in that series. Reynner and Eve are great characters. Reynner is a damaged man and has a really hard time trusting, especially women. He was betrayed very badly and is still dealing and constantly reminded of that mistake. He is trying to find the human woman who can help save their world. Eve is that woman (though their is a great twist at the end). Eve is a very giving person that when she touches someone with her hands uncovered she sees their thoughts and memories. It is not pleasant for her and will actually make her lose consciousness. She gained these powers trying to save her parents from a car accident when she was younger. Eve accidentally sees some of Reynner's memories of his time in hell and the betrayal that happened to him and it helps her understand Reynner's distrust of her and all women and gives her some patience for him. They are both drawn to each other and have a hard time staying away but Reynner's past hurts continue to cause them problems. I really liked how the relationship was built between the two of them. Their interactions are great. There were times that I wanted to smack them both because if they had just finished their thoughts they could have saved themselves a few problems but it was also totally understandable why they didn't. It never felt like it was just to drag the story out. It truly fit the characters and the story. The sex is explicit but not very frequent. There is a lot of sexual tension. There is plenty of action to keep your attention and wondering how things are going to unfold. I was pulled into this story from the beginning and I didn't want to leave. The twist at the end is not one I really saw coming but I'm very excited for the next book and where this is going to take the story!

About the Author

Nancy Swayzee is a Medical Exercise Specialist and a Health and Fitness Instructor certified by the American College of Sports Medicine. As a specialist in functions anatomy, she focuses on restoring balance to the musculo-skeletal system. She has been trained in the Paul St. John method of neuro-muscular therapy.

Within her practice she specializes in treating patients with cervical an low back pain, TMJ syndrome, postural imbalances and other musculo-skeletal conditions. In addition, she develops fitness programs for a variety of special populations as well as patients referred to her rehabilitation exercise. Her abdominal and back strengthening program has gained recognition among master skiers, equestrians, runners and other athletes.

As a member of the Tahoe Forest Hospital Health Promotions team, she directs both the Senior exercise and the Aqua Aerobics program. She conducts abdominal and back exercise clinics at the hospital, and has been a regular presenter of the highly respected Women's Wellness Weekend held annually in Squaw Valley.

She lives in Cedar Ridge, California, close to her children and grandchildren.

Have back pain? Don't ever want back pain? READ THIS BOOK!

Ms. Swayzee wrote her book for the lay person, yet you will find that it is not at all simplistic. IF YOU WANT RELIEF FROM LOW BACK PAIN OR IF YOU HAVE A HEALTHY BACK AND YOU WANT TO KEEP IT THAT WAY you must learn how to function, day to day, utilizing a stable trunk. This means, that YOUR UPPER BODY AND LOWER BODY NEED TO LEARN TO STAY TOGETHER AS A SINGLE, STABILIZED, UNIT as you lift, work, carry, etc. This book tells you how to use your inner abdominal muscles to achieve a stable trunk. In my opinion, the critical discovery set forth in this book is the use of forced-expiration breathing to achieve a body stabilizing abdominal contraction. This technique allows instant access to a stable trunk and can therefore be used moment to moment, throughout the day. I use her method constantly all day long. This is the only effective way I know to protect the back during the damaging rigors of everyday life. It allows a person to quickly target the proper abdominal muscles and then to maintain a more powerful, more sustained abdominal contraction when needed. During quieter activities when I am not lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying etc. I maintain a constant 10% to 15% contraction as a matter of routine posture. I look better and I feel better. IN FACT AFTER TWO YEARS OF SERIOUS DAILY LOW BACK PAIN, I FEEL GREAT!! If practiced for a few weeks, this health-preserving technique soon develops into a reflex that becomes automatic. THIS BOOK CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

About the Author
Dr. Turley is Brady Distinguished Professor of nutrition and the online nutrition program director at Weber State University. She is also currently head of the Department of Health and Human Performance. She received her Ph.D. degree in nutritional science from the University of Texas at Austin and held a 4-year post-doctoral research fellowship at the National Cancer Institute in Frederick, Maryland. She has been actively involved in teaching, scholarship, and service at WSU for nearly 10 years. Dr. Turley's nutrition specialty areas are cancer and immunity. Her laboratory experiences centered on investigating vitamin E as an anti-cancer agent in human cancer cells and determining novel mechanisms of action for this essential nutrient. She is personally and professionally interested in nutrition and immunity, especially as it relates to food allergies and intolerances, as well as food system sustainability and the personal and environmental benefits of organic foods.

Dr. Thompson is Professor of Nutrition and the Director of the Nutrition Program at Weber State University, where she has been for 27 years. Because the Department of Nutrition is housed in the School of Health and Human Performance, Dr. Thompson has had the opportunity to reach out to young adults and share sound strategies for promoting lifelong good health. Many experiences that Dr. Thompson had during her undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley motivated her to pursue career opportunities in the clinical dietetics area. After completing a master's degree and a doctorate degree from the University of Arizona, and doing clinical nutrition research, she was convinced that preventive medicine and lifestyle management are among the keys to life-long health and happiness.

Does NOT include the actual textbook

Beware, the product description is very misleading. This is ONLY for the Access Key and all of the digital content that comes with the book, NOT the actual textbook. I made that mistake and am now returning, delaying my course. Just go to the Cengagebrain website to purchase the book and access key bundle for $70. I've actually ordered THREE different offerings of this book from Amazon and had to return all of them because either the access key or in this case the book itself was missing.

And we received our book which did not include the access code - making it useless and putting us further behind. Shouldn't a NEW book come complete with all the necessary pieces to make the book usefull.

The reviews declared it was a brand new book. It was the book I needed but it did not come with the media I needed. I was not unhappy with the product, although I returned it. I ended up buying an original book from the bookstore that came with the CD.

I received the book on Tuesday, and just glancing at my the second 6th grade lab, I decided to replace my chapter test with this lab. Does what CC is asking us to do: integrate standards, use real world applications, look for higher order processing.
